Hilda manages to get Rumpole out of London for the Christmas break, once actually to a slimming spa(!), but murder and blackmail and old familiar faces follow him wherever he goes.

Because these stories were all first published in various journals at various times, there is a slight repetition of background, but that is to be expected under the circumstances. They are as delightful as always. But who could have anticipated that Mortimer would kill off Honoria Glossop!

I enjoyed the first Mortimer Beckett, and was definitely looking forward to the new one. I was not at all disappointed. This MB has the player travelling through time, seeking out the pieces of objects that will complete puzzles necessary to advance to the next level. The graphics on this game are truly fantastic. We go with Mortimer throughout time- to ancient Egypt, Camelot, a robot lab in the future, and many more. The puzzles are harder than those in the first game, and the game was longer than the first. Those who loved the first MB, or those who enjoy hidden object games generally should definitely try out this game.
