I didn't expect to like this series. The characters just drew me in, and now I'm finding myself eagerly awaiting Season Three! I liked Season One better than Two, primarily because the whole thing in Season Two with Marianne the Maenad was dumb, irritating, and I just didn't care at all what happened to her. It seemed a weak spot in the story line and a detraction from the regular characters we've come to know and love. In discussions with other Truebies, I find I was not alone in my reaction to the Marianne story line. But the "regulars", Sookie, Bill, Jason, Tara, Eric, Pam, Sam, etc., are like old friends now, and I love to see their personalities develop as the series goes on. As to "Team Eric" or "Team Bill"...wow, that's a hard one. Bill is the true-blue romantic love that seems the most destined to last, for Sookie. But Eric...hmmmm...I have a feeling we'll see some surprises from him in the upcoming season, and aside from being astonishingly gorgeous, his personality does grow on you (or maybe that's just the glamour talking..). Go and take a little visit to Bon Temps, I think you'll find it a nice place to hang out.

Blood Ties: Season Two

Thought this was a great series. Although I did not care for the female investigator, I thought the vampire and police investigator were great. They made the series worth watching. The lady investigator was the most self centered, unyeilding character I have seen in a long time. By the end of the series I felt she got what she deserved.

I was really able to enjoy this season a lot more than Season 1. The first half of Season 1 suffered because it took a while to develop the characters but by Season 2 all the main characters had been established and the show didn't have to move as slow... and do I need to mention ERIC's development?! YUM!!

I should mention I had not read the books. After season 2 ended I finally did pick up the first book. I did NOT like the book nearly as much as the show, mostly because I love all the other character's that HBO has developed and I love hearing their stories!
