![]() Acer V223-WBD 22" Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor (Black) $183.99 Stand is not very adjustable and a little flimsy. The back light is not perfectly even which is to be expected for a monitor at this price point. ![]() Acer X183H Bb 18.5-Inch Widescreen LCD Display - Black $129.99 The X183H Bb LCD offers an expansive 18.5-Inch display surface for comfortable widescreen viewing of multiple spreadsheets, high-def media and more. ![]() Samsung 2233SW 21.5-Inch Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor $222.99 It was fine when it worked. A little over a year after purchase, it started flickering at start up. After about 20 minutes of flickering it would finally pop on. I exchanged it with another monitor on another computer in my house to make sure it wasn't a video card issue. It wasn't; the problem followed the monitor and the other computer's monitor worked fine on both computers. After two or three weeks of this, it finally just quit altogether. As I type this, it's sitting in a trash dumpster, having been replaced with a new Dell. After this experience, I don't think I'll be buying anymore Samsung monitors. I give it two stars only because it gave me one year of good service before it gave up. It's not a very expensive monitor, so I guess you get what you pay for. I bet most of the good reviews here just haven't had the monitor long enough for it to fail yet. But I definitely expect more than a year out of a monitor. Is that asking too much? ![]() HP 2009M 20-Inch HD LCD Monitor $179.00 I bought the first one and it was DOA -- didn't even power up so it was return immediately. The exchange worked wonderfully for exactly 10 days when it developed a very pretty rainbow band on the screen 2/3rd in from the left side -- i.e. the led screen was separating, which is a manufacturing problem, and not a store or delivery issue. So I returned that one as well. I did do some due diligence as to whether I should get another or whether this was a more systemic problem -- from the HP archives I saw lots more of people who were complaining of the same problem -- which shows up a lot more on the 23 inch monitor. So with that information in hand, I did not buy another HP and at this point I would not again. They have some severe manufacturing problems, which I managed to get straight up twice -- why this weblog does not show it utterly amazes me. |
