![]() Tissue Engineering (Methods in Molecular Medicine) $149.00 Tissue Engineering, Second Edition, provides a comprehensive volume that integrates a wide spectrum of methods required to implement current and future progress in tissue engineering. Leading experts in various disciplines provide examples of recent advances in tissue engineering-related methodologies. Authors present authoritative discussions on topics including in vitro expansion of tissue cells by conditional proliferation; stem cell engineering using transducible Cre recombinase; skeletal stem cells for tissue engineering; synthetic hydrogel matrices for guided bladder tissue regeneration; artificial skin; artificial pancreas; cardiomyocytes from human and mouse embryonic stem cells; and biological scaffolds for heart valve tissue engineering.Tissue Engineering, Second Edition, supplies an understanding of diverse technologies and methods used to drive tissue engineering into a clinical reality. The knowledge contained in this volume represents the impressive progress made in the decade that tissue engineering has rapidly evolved. ![]() Molecular Medicine, Third Edition $96.95 Molecular medicine is the application of gene or DNA based knowledge to the modern practice of medicine. This book provides contemporary insights into how the genetic revolution is influencing medical thinking and practice on a broad front including clinical medicine, innovative therapies and forensic medicine. * Extensively revised just after the completion of the Human Genome Project, it provides the latest in molecular medicine developments * The only book in Molecular Medicine that has undergone 3 editions * Current practice as well as future developments identified * Extensive tables, well presented figures - resources for further understanding ![]() Molecular Therapeutics: 21st Century Medicine $60.00 Molecular therapeutics refers to the developments in molecular biology that are focused on treating disease with new molecular-based drugs. By taking advantage of recent advances and increased understanding in the field of human genetics, this book provides essential background knowledge and key literature on a broad range of novel approaches and disciplines. These include making recombinant proteins, xenotransplantation gene therapy and therapeutic cloning. Molecular Therapeutics: 21st Century Medicine describes the techniques - including their associated benefits, problems, pitfalls - and discusses their applicability with respect to treating microbial, inherited, multifactoral and acquired diseases. The book also pays specific attention to the ethical issues associated with this new field. *Cutting-edge topics and clinically relevant materials engage and maintain student interest *Self-assessment questions are included throughout the book *Features an additional web site, with a web forum, regular updates and PowerPoint slides of figures from the book Molecular Therapeutics: 21st Century Medicine is a comprehensive, accessible and engaging guide to the rapidly developing field of molecular therapeutics. It is essential reading for all students in this area of research and also of interest for health professionals involved in these novel therapies. ![]() Introduction to Molecular Medicine $54.95 I bought this book since a University offered me a Molecular Medicine postgraduate class. The truth is I find the book too basic, but I gave it four stars because even though It's simple, It has a very good order and few but very well searched examples. It is a very good choice for somebody willing to have a first approximation with molecular medicine; for somebody with background in the subject I don't recommend it. |
