![]() Tropic Thunder - Unrated Director's Cut I didnt think this movie would be that great when it was being previewed...but then my husband bought it and we watched it together, and it's seriously one of the funniest movies i've seen in a long time. It strays away from the typical comedies, and is unique from any jack black or ben stiller comedy film. You will be suprised at the humor, it's a little shocking at points. I gave it 4 stars due to lots of filthy language, as a mom i had to wait untill the kids were in bed to watch it. other than that i think this movie is definatly worth it!! Tom Cruise shows his very funny side...and his scenes will have you rolling on the floor. ![]() Eva Longoria Cover Cosmo Magazine April 2007 - Cosmopolitan - Maria Menounos $1.99 Cosmo magazine with Eva Longoria cover story - Plus Maria Menounos fashion shoot. ![]() Fashion in Film (Starz Inside) $19.97 This movie would be great if it were edited down to 15 minutes. Most of it is talking heads going on and on about this designer or that trend. The blurb indicated that it would deal with Edith Head, costumes in film, etc. That takes up about ten minutes, and it merely shows a photo of Ms. Head. It doesn't deal with the iconic elements of her designs. The rest looks like those MTV fillers where actors and unrecognizable "fasion experts" give their preferences and opinions. I showed it to my film class and was embarrassed by the lack of information and the vapid way in which it was delivered. I wanted to fast forward through the first 30 minutes, but I kept hoping it would get better. There have to be better movies about costumes and fashion in film. I'm still searching. ![]() Kickin' It Old Skool $14.98 This is the first movie that brought me back to my childhood days of GP kids and the orginal Star Wars and the music-and The Robot! The one guy even references those "wacky wall walkers" --- I had one in the 2nd grade and I always got in trouble for throwing it on the wall while walking with my class. The songs are right on with the early 80's and I was only 5 years old in 1980. I can totally relate, since I remember trying to break dance myself. What was I thinking? Life was so much more simple. No cell phones, no email. No need to be on the computer all day long. You could actually have some time to yourself without "texting" to all of your friends at once! No hearing other peoples conversation in the grocery store on their cell phone or on their blue tooth, looking as if they are talking to themselves. The dependance on these things is crazy! (I do not own a cell phone now and I don't think I will ever go back to owning one.) I've seen this movie about 4 times in the last 3 weeks. I'm going to purchase it for myself and as a gift for a friend. |
