A Seriously underrated movie. Take Mark Harmon's comedic talent (which most directors ignore) and his more serious talent, combine them and you will get a great movie. He starts off as a self loathing ex athlete and works his way thru the pain in some seriously funny scenes as well as the self examination he goes thru. Have worn out part of one DVD hitting reverse just to see the poison ivy scene....He and Harold Ramos are a scream coming out of the bar....singing. Jodie Foster is so beautiful in this movie and plays very well with the young Billy Wyatt character. Her great talent shows even in this early film. Love the fact it was filmed in the USA and using Mark Harmon's Minor League Baseball team the San Bernardino Spirits. This is for young and old alike. My children and I watch it with their grandparents every time a new season of Baseball starts.....

Ok, I personaly LOVE THIS MOVIE! I am quite the fan of Jeremy Sumpter I must admit. He was great in Peter Pan. But anyways. . .the story was spectacular. One that seems so realistic in todays world. The songs and surfing atmosphere was great! There are some really funny parts. Some of the top selling movies of today I must admit suck. But when you find movies like this one that probably barely made it to the movies deserve more credit. Great movie over all. Great music. :]

It is a good movie but is not closed captioned so i wish it would have been for us to read the better as we watch the Lifetime movies frequently on television.
