This movie was horrible, it is about a girl that basically strings a nice guy along for years, while she indulges herself in "bad-boy" relationships, then is astonished that these guys treat her badly, duh! Guess what , bad boys are called bad boys for a reason. Then after she has struggled and has a child she comes back to the guy and ,now she loves him and wants a relationship. To top this off, the guy who has been pining alone for most of his life, shows he has no self respect and takes her back. This girl has more issues than National Geographic, and any intelligent guy would run away as fast as possible, realistically any man with any self respect would have blown her off long ago and moved on to a better adjusted and less dysfunctional person. This is a prime example of how NOT to get involved in a relationship. If people think this type of dysfunction is romantic, it is no wonder we have a 50% divorce rate in our country. Pass this one up guys , there are many better romantic movies that portray far more healthy interactions than this trainwreck.

Never had an interest in watching the series - boxing and Latino stereotypes are not things I relate to. However, I was convinced by a friend to give it a try since as a Latina, we should be supporting programs by Latinos, that employ Latinos and that paint Latinos in a positive light. I purchased the complete season and started watching it on a Saturday; it was like a cliff-hanger or that book you just can't put down. I could hardly peel myself away from the screen. I stayed up until 1:00 AM both Saturday and Sunday. By Monday night, I had watched the entire season.

I loved the premise of the show and two characters in particular. Elizabeth Pe���a as Bibi is someone you root for, and fall in love with, from the first breakfast scene. Miguel is the one brother you want to hug and see succeed more than anyone else and Tony Plana as the patriarch makes you want to throw things at the screen and yell - "Stop living your life vicariously through your children." He reminds me of my mother! While I hate boxing, I can see that from the writers point of view it is the perfect metaphor for this family's struggle. I admit, I had to cover my eyes during those scenes. For all the boxing fans, it is very realistic and you will certainly enjoy the spit, blood and sweat!

Latinos and Latinas, support your Latino actors, writer, producers and directors. Buy the DVD, pass it around. How else are we ever going to see ourselves written and acted properly, if we are not telling our own story?

Great movie, better then I expected. Marisol Nichols is a good actress, haven't seen her in many movies, Val Kilmer is believable as a prisoner. I recommend this DVD(Blu-Ray).
