The Marie red Christmas album is wonderful and really put me into the Christmas spirit! Marie's voice has changed a lot since her broadway performances, but there are a few tracks on this album that are backed by country music, such as The Locket, that sound like the old Marie.
I also bought the Marie green Christmas album because it has bonus tracks. But its also worth having Donny's Christmas album, and they need to rerelease Merrill's Christmas album as well?

I remember seeing this movie for the first time many years ago as teenager and loving it back then. I found it again and still love how sweet and innocent a love story this is. It will bring a sweet spirit into your home! I plan on showing it to my teenagers this holiday season. They may think it kindof cheesy but I think they will still like it!

Big hair, shoulder pads, sequins aplenty, snow and Christmas songs. C'mon folks, take a step back to the big 80's with this fabulous nostalgic Christmas special. Marie is in fine form (even if she IS hiding a baby bump) throughout this timeless program. And for only $4.95! That's cheaper than a good cocktail or a pack of smokes...and you can watch it over and over. I remember back in 1989 when this special first aired my family didn't own a VCR so I had the neighbor family videotape it for me. I watched that video about a hundred times before it finally gave up the ghost as VHS tapes are known to do. Was tickled pink when it came out on DVD. Now I am a teacher with no children of my own so every year at Christmas I force my students to watch Marie's Christmas Special. Grudgingly at first, my students now have an appreciation for the artistry of Donny & Marie. They won't admit that they enjoy it but every eye is glued to the television as soon as I push "play". A true, pure holiday special that never gets old. I can't recommend this DVD highly enough.
