i'm not a big fan of mariah carey. i'm much more into whitney houston, her biggest rival at all time. but it doesn't prevent me from admiring this good album.
it is obvious that the most memorable part of mariah carey's music career was when she sang big ballads such as hero, vision of love or my all. it was also when she still had a strong, high, and crytal clear voice. and #1's is definitely a collection of her finest works including some of her signatures.
i dun want go much on details because she's too famous for us not to know; therefore, do not pretend that she's a second-rated singer (yet probably, an overated one) that you haven't heard about. then, if you love her for the classy style, this one is a perfect choice before this singer entering a completely different stage of her career, into a sexier and more likely a market-oriented performer.

When it has came down to Mariah Carey, she hasn't been able to strike that nail on the head with her music lately. The songs on her latest album, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel have been very weak, from start to finish, and haven't been able to click to fans as much as her prior records. Her first single from her album, Obsessed, feels a bit overdone. It honestly is a very weak and dormid song for Mariah, compared to her more upbeat R&B and Pop hits from her earlier records, like It's Like That and Honey. I wasn't as impressed at all. I think Mariah needs to find a better sound for herself as a whole for her next album, because it just isn't really the obsession her fans should've gotten. Hopefully, Mariah will do much better in Precious when it does come out next month.

This album is AMAZING!!! I have always been a Mariah fan, but when I purchased this album I had so-so expectations.Because she has been doing this for so long I automatically assumed it would be one of those albums that was put out due to contract requirements.So glad to know I was wrong! From the time the first track begins with Betcha Gon' Know, you are swept into this experience that every woman has felt at some point.That revenge moment as Mariah sings "...Betcha gon gon know how it feels...when I get ya back..and ya hearts been cracked..and we fade to black..and you see ya whole world collapse...IMA LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LAUGH".Her voice is so melodic, so strong, so emotional.I can't gush enough about it so I will list my current top songs(as of this morning lol)in track order:

1.Betcha Gon' Know
2.Obsessed
3.H.A.T.E.U (unbelievable!!!!)
6.Inseparable
7.Standin' O (so catchy you will sing for days)
8.It's a Wrap
15.Angels Cry (was singing this to my hubby last night)
16.Languishing (the shortest track,wish it were longer cause it's so good)

Bottom Line:Get this album if you need to experience every feeling love has to offer..the good and the bad =)

out of all the concert tours she has done in the past, i consider this her best. her past tours seem very boring and dull compared to this. this one has more glamor and the most artistic thing she has done. i love all the outfits she had worn. the one where she wears a black cape, bra, and black shorts was very sexy!!! her body looks amazing!!!! she has great curves. the dresses that she wore are so beautiful. her voice is not what it used to be and it shows during the vision of love performance but i really enjoyed seeing all the great costumes and her wonderful performances. i particularly thought lovers and haters segment was interesting and funny to watch.
