![]() Incipio Technologies IM-100 Orion Sleeve Case for Apple Macbook Air (Black) $29.99 Excellent product; a minimal sleeve for my macbook air. It hardly takes up additional space and holds the laptop firmly without additional closure while offering sufficient protection. It is convenient to take the laptop out of my bike bag without taking out the sleeve, for example, at airport security checkpoints. ![]() Apple MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air - MB283LL/A - AC 100-240 V - 45 Watt $79.00 I had to return this to the local Apple store after a year of use as the cord cracked near it's entrance to the brick. They did give me a new one without charge and said that this has happened a lot. If you travel a lot do not wind it around the wings that fold out as you will wear out the cord at the insertion. ![]() Apple MacBook Air MC234LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop $1,799.00 Once you've tried this machine for any length of time, you're bound to be spoiled, hooked, converted to the fold. The once maligned machine is gradually earning the respect it deserves, as users come to realize the enormous difference between 3 pounds (the Air) and 5.5 pounds ( the 13" MacBook Pro--the MacBook is 5.7). As far as "thinness," apparently there's a "snobbish" following for this machine that gets carried away by style points, but for my uses, it's the practicality that makes it Apple's most desirable laptop. It was almost a year ago that Apple dropped the price of this model to within reasonable range of the Air that uses a regular hard drive. But even when the spread was over a thousand, and the memory for solid state was less, I still would have recommended the solid state model over the spinning hard drive. In fact, I'm surprised Apple still sells the conventional drive (for a mere $200 less). I'm somewhat disappointed not to be able to discern any difference between this year's solid state model and last year's--other than the considerable price drop and the installation of Snow Leopard. Don't expect the battery to live up to the advertised charge times (I'm lucky to get 2 hours out of a single charge, but I tend to run my screen quite bright). And I seem to have more difficulty with discs getting stuck in the add-on Superdrive than the built-in drives of the iBook and Macbook. But all of that soon becomes insignificant once you discover the enormous advantage of the "lightness of being." I'm hoping Apple decides to make this machine a priority for an overdue major facelift (without, of course, adding so much as an ounce of weight (thinness or fatness, however, is no issue--in fact, the thin, sharp-edged aluminum case admittedly makes this machine much more prone to slipping out of the user's grasp). Either that, or perhaps a substantially better netbook than any that have so far been produced by other manufacturers--most are tiny but not sufficiently rugged and convenient for serious, daily composing). Amazon's return policy is definitely a plus. My first machine arrived DOA. With other sellers, I would have had to deal with the problem through Apple--definitely not the situation you want find yourself in with a brand new (and not inexpensive) machine. Amazon immediately sent a replacement--and I'm congratulating myself for not turning sour on this machine after an initial disastrous experience. ![]() Boa MacBook Air Soft Case - Black $29.99 Ok this is coming from an actual buyer!
