![]() LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition $59.99 We got a PS3 at the price drop, lots of us did! It was easy to find blu-rays for me and the wife, I got a nice role playing game for myself, and out boys were easy to shop for as well. Lots of first person shooters to choose from of course. But what to do about out 7 year old daughter? There is a dirth of family or female oriented games for the PS3. Enter LittleBigPlanet. Not that it is a girl's game, it is a people's game. Our daughter does indeed love it, she dresses up her sackgirl and enjoys new levels for the fun and fashion choices. Sometimes, she just tries out and displays different looks. Not my cup of tea, but then that is the point. It is really the only PS3 game she regularly plays. The rest of us enjoy it too. I usually game a bit after the kids have gone to sleep, and I play LBP much more than I ever imagined. My wife, who rarely plays video games, will play this one. The game is utterly charming. It is a good game without the wonderful, whimsical world, but the world, the animations, the music even, create a game experience that is wholesome, warm, and inviting. This is a different experience in gaming. I suggest you get the game of the year edition so you start out with more levels and more costumes. Your children, or even your inner child, will thank you. Trey ![]() Little, Big $16.99 This was either a birthday or a Christmas gift from my husband, I can't quite remember which, late last year or early this. I never would have heard about it otherwise, but I'm so glad he found it and thought of me when he saw this book. This book moves with fluidity like a dream, incorporating tarot, fae, and multiple generations in a wonderful experience of magical realism. I'd recommend it to most people who consider themselves more than the occasional light reader. ![]() LittleBigPlanet $39.99 Writen By Jimmy's Son J.T. Nolan, (look young, Feel young) lol I pre-ordered this game simply because the PS3 version is awesome. In the PS3 version the Create mode enables you to... 1) have 3 layers of depth that allow you to make your created levels more apealing to the eye and more diverse in the veriety of electronics and machines you can create. 2) Be able to easly make any shape of any size in a short amount of time. 3) Not be restricted by the operating system. Such in not so in the PSP create mode. It only has 2 layers of depth. And it is very difficult to make a shape that you want. (Being an advanced creator I sometimes make very complex polygons and things of that nature) Also the controls are very hard to get used to. By now you should have realized that my primary purpose in LBP is to Create. On the up side of things. The story levels in this new version are quite exiting. (I doubt that Media Modules only used the controls and items offered to you in the create mode to make their complex levels.) Anyway they are very fun and enjoyable for awhile. Being as early as it is in this new versions history, I'm not suprised at all that there are very few fun community levels. This is understandable due to the restricted tools and ability of the new create mode. So don't expect to be wowed by the imagination of your fellow Sackboys in the version. So to close I say that If you want this game to be able to create while on the move, I wouldn't recomend it unless you have the patience to handle it. If you just like to play the levels, it's not a bad idea to try this new version out. If you have a PS3 and do not have this game for that particular system I would highly advise you to purchase it! I hope this review helped you. I ![]() Big Little $8.31 I love the style of the illustrations in this book - it's very unique. The high contrasting colors are beautiful. Also, the main character of the book is a baby, which is appealing to our little one. |
