![]() Best Kept Secret $13.98 Don't be fooled for this album; certainly Leona recorded this album with UEG (which released it in Japan) before her success on x-factor but Leona's lawyers claim they have not rights to start selling it because she is under SONY now. UEG anyway wanted to cash on her world wide mega-success claiming they spent ¡ò70,000 trying to launch her career before winning the competition. Even Leona though the album will never been see the light. Leona official second album is scheduled to be release for November 2009. This album may be good as a collection album so to witness her evolution as a singer but to fill the expectations all we now have about her is far below from that. ![]() Spirit (Deluxe Edition) (Incl. Bonus Tracks and Bonus DVD) (PAL Version) $26.99 This enhanced version of the exemplary "Spirit" CD is vintage. Leona Lewis' vocals soar on all four of the bonus tracks. The tender and emotive "Run" is dramatic and dynamic. " A Moment Like This" is triumphant and cathartic. "Forgive Me" is a great single that will resonate with the masses. "Misses Glass" is a unique gem. The Leona Lewis rise to stardom is a great story. In addition to being a supreme vocalist, Ms. Lewis is a humane animal lover who reveres God, her family and her middle class British culture. She's unaffected and down to earth. It's amazing that so much musical talent continues to emanate from England. In a few years Leona may arguably be the biggest star on the planet. There's nothing vain or conceited about her. "Footprints In The Sand" says it all. ![]() Bleeding Love $1.29 I hate hate hate hate this song. It sounds likes she's trying to rip off other, better singers and the lyrics aren't much to talk about either. Every time I hear this song on the radio, I change stations or turn it off. I'm sure the girl's talented, but I just can't stand this Mariah Carey-esque song. Boring. Next. ![]() Echo $9.99 I finally got the CD today and listened to it several times in order to get a feel for the songs, and I must say, so far, I love them! "Echo" has got a very fresh feel, and there are definitely differences between the songs on this album and those on "Spirit" in the sense that there are more unique sounds and a wider variety of genres. The production is great, and most importantly, as always, the vocals are outstanding! Breakdown: 1) Happy-Great first single with nice lyrics and arrangement. Definitely a hit. 2) I Got You-Upbeat, cheerful. Sounds like it can be the opening theme song for a TV show. 3) Love Letter-Another upbeat track with a sound similar to some of the songs released in the late 90's by other UK pop groups. 4) Can't Breathe-Nice tempo and R&B feel. Seems to be the favorite track of most listeners, based on other reviews I've read. 5) You Don't Care-This one stood out right away. I'm a huge Beatles fan, and certain parts reminded me of some of their songs (Strawberry Fields Forever, I Am a Walrus and Hey Jude). 6) Outta My Head-This is probably the most dance-oriented song that could work well in a club. 7) Brave-Another unique track with a Middle-Eastern feel and background instruments. 8) My Hands-Reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone". 9) Alive-Good arrangement that gives the song more of a rock edge than some of the other tracks. 10) Don't Let Me Down- Another R&B track that could have easily fit in with some of the songs on "Spirit". 11) Fly Here Now-This is quite an 80's-sounding song. 12) Broken- A mellow, heart-felt song that's beautifully done. Starts out slow and builds up to the bridge and beyond. 13) Lost Then Found- The Ryan Tedder duet that has the sound that's recognizable on songs like "Halo". *14) Naked- Bonus track available with pre-orders. Similar to "Love Letter"; very poppy and upbeat. *15) Stop Crying Your Heart Out-This is an Oasis cover off the European edition of the CD that has the same feel as "Run", with great lyrics and vocals. It's worth getting this song if you can get a hold of it! |
