![]() Buffy the Vampire Slayer $9.98 I got this movie cause I saw the TV show and I wanted to see what the movie was like. This movie is not that great and if it were not for the TV series, it would probably fall off the face of the planet. Do yourself a favor and just try to rent it from somewhere. ![]() The Chase $9.98 Man this is a entertaining movie, from start to finish. The whole movie is set in a car and you'll never get bored! I watch this movie when I was a kid and now I own it......it's a must have movie!!!! ![]() Living Death $9.95 Living Death (Erin Berry, 2006) Surprisingly, a great deal less stupid than I figured it would be, with really good acting for a straight-to-video release and a plot that, while not terribly accurate in some of its particulars, was at least halfway original and more than halfway interesting. Elizabeth (Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Kristy Swanson) and Victor (Saw V's Greg Bryk) Harris are unhappily married. Victor is a sadistic, infantile playboy, and Elizabeth is just kind of waiting around until he finally manages to kill himself and she inherits his vast estate. She also happens to be romantically involved with Roman (Lars and the Real Girl's Joshua Peace), Victor's best friend and lawyer. The two come up with a plan to get rid of Victor without anyone knowing, but the poison they end up using simply puts Victor into a coma, able to see, hear, and feel everything that's going on around him, but unable to telegraph to the outside world that this is the case. (Fans of The Serpent and the Rainbow or the books of Wade Davis know exactly what's going on here.) Yeah, it's your basic thriller, but with a few fun twists thrown in and some really engaging, if repugnant, characters. Compared to a lot of low budget horror/thrillers I've seen in January, Living Death is Oscar material. (It's not, of course. Everything's relative.) But even looked at more empirically, it's fun, it's watchable, it's perfect for a rainy night when you've got nothing better to do. *** ![]() Deadly Friend [VHS] $14.98 This was a good movie but it did have problems. In this film Paul fell in love with a girl named Samantha. After Sam's dad knocked her down the stairs, Paul put a piece of his Robot in her head and brought her back to life. Sam then killed her father, an old lady, and a bully. And at the end she killed Paul as well. The two main problems are that Sam had super human strength and at the end of the movie she turned into a robot. How could this happen just because she had a piece of a robot in her brain? It couldn't have. That was ridiculous. I did enjoy this film. It didn't suck. People did like it when Sam exploded Elvira Parker's head with a basketball. I bought this movie on VHS in 2004. I may buy it on DVD. If you like movies with gore, you may like Deadly Friend. |
