![]() The Out Sound from Way In! The Complete Vanguard Recordings $23.98 I bought this collection, it's quite exhaustive and a good item for those who want to go back to this period from time to time. I do agree with the mention that it's gonna be tough to listen to it straight through. It's not that it's slow, I can listen to Music for Airports all day, it's that some of the structures become grating after a while. Still, I recommend it, especially at this price. One big disappointment is you're not going to get "Popcorn", by Kingsley. It was quite a hit in itself (although most are more used to the Hot Butter version), and it being missing here is disappointing. I guess it wasn't a Vanguard recording, as it isn't on any of the collections I can see. ![]() Kingsley Mosh Pit Long Sleeve Tee - Charcoal, 12-18 months $46.00 Ultra hip and super soft Mosh Pit tee by Kingsley with cool raw edges on sleeves, neckline, and hems. Mr. Kingsley outlines a traditional metaphysic with unsurpassed simplicity. He cuts out everything that might divert the reader from Being and Now. It's powerful in its simplicity. This is also his worst weakness. In totally eschewing academic idiom he makes some ideas seem less precise, more "mystical" (in a bad way) than they are. For instance, his long explanation of the unthinkability of non-being would be improved, I think, if he used the scholastic language of potentiality and actuality, and explained that Being encompasses both. A mixed approach would work better, and perhaps that's what we'll see from him in the future. In sum, understanding this book requires more time and effort than one might think upon glancing through it. Mr. Kingsley intentionally leaves the reader to connect the dots. If you're looking for a broader, more academic, and more complex (yet in some ways easier) study of similar ideas, I recommend "The Essential Ananda K. Coomaraswamy". |
