![]() Remember That I Love You $14.98 I can assume that I am one of many that hadn't heard of Kimya Dawson until Juno, and "Remember That I Love You" features most of the songs she contributed to the soundtrack. I expected that these songs would all be the standouts, and though Loose Lips is possibly still the best song on the album with a catchy-as-hell chorus and cheery tune, the whole album is strong start to finish. I'm usually one to go for punk, hardcore, metal and the like, but the fact that this is acoustic and more pop than the Moldy Peaches wasn't a factor - I enjoyed especially "My Mom", "Underground" and "I Like Giants", as well as Tire Swing, Loose Lips and the full version of My Rollercoaster, which even features a little Metallica reference. This isn't music that I'd typically listen to, but I loved it. Definitely worth the purchase. ![]() My Cute Fiend Sweet Princess $15.98 First i got Kimya's album Remeber That I Love You, then i ended up getting Hidden Vagenda because i loved RTILY so much. Then. I got all the rest of her albums. I must say, out of all of her older ones. This one is my favorite. I love how all of the songs are different, but still the same. The lyrics are so good. So heartfelt. My favorite songs on the album are Will You Be Me? (So catchy.), Everything's Alright (I love how it's made.), The Beer (I've had this one for quite a while, so good, raw with emotional.), and Being Cool (I love the message.) Do not get me wrong. Every single song on here is good. Chemistry has AMAZING lyricism in it. So poetic. So. If you are new to Kimya or a long time patriot, then get this album. It is really, very, truly great. ![]() I'm Sorry That Sometimes I'm Mean $11.98 One of the earlier CD's from Kimya Dawson, recently featured on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the movie Juno. Very indie, (alternative/anti-)folky, quirky and clever. A nice change of pace from the cookie-cutter sound of today's recent mainstream. I love it! Play it loud in your car while you drive around with the windows down, and see what kind of strange looks people give you! |
