![]() Eight Days a Week $19.98 This movie did not get much attention when it came out but it is extremely funny and true to life. ![]() Waitress (Widescreen Edition) $14.98 The Bottom Line: Keri Russell is cute and spunky and Nathan Fillion is adorably awkward as the object of her affection, so it's rather a shame when the movie falls back on dumb stock characters like Keri Russell's selfish pig of a husband (ever notice how many attractive, smart, and nice women in movies are dating complete jerks?) and doesn't try for anything greater than a fairly standard, albeit rather successful, romantic comedy formula; ultimately Waitress is as sweet as the pie the plot focuses on, but not very filling. 2.5/4 ![]() The Lottery $6.99 This film has a great section that could be viewed in an English class...the whole film is not true to the actual story, but the actual lottery section is pretty close...I used it in my classroom. ![]() Wonder Woman 2009 (Two-Disc Special Edition + Digital Copy) $29.98 I was kinda skeptical when I first heard about this DVD as Wonder Woman hasnt always been a favorite character of mine. But when you have very few options to see superheroes in movies cartoon or otherwise, you sort of have to watch what you can get. And this movie was a pleasant surprise. I thought not only was the voice casting done well (for an example of how not to do it watch that JLA New Frontier), but also the tone of Wonder Woman I believe was captured too. All in all, fan or no fan, if you love comics or superheroes this is a movie to see. Everyone I've showed it to male or female has enjoyed it! |
