![]() Jumper $19.98 I rented and watched this movie off of Netflix recently, when I have asked people I know if they liked it most people either hadn't seen it or said it was just okay so I wasn't expecting much out of this. However I did actually enjoy this movie. It gets going pretty fast and keeps this pace through out the whole movie and at 88 minutes long its just the right length as to not get stale. Hayden Christensen plays David Rice who has the ability to Jump, Jumping in this movie is an ability some have that allows them to teleport to anywhere they have been before instantly. After learning of this ability David runs away from home and his alcoholic father to New York, where he robs a bank. David is living a wonderful life and all seems well until Samuel L. Jackson's character Roland Cox who is a member of a secret organization that hunts down and kills Jumpers known as The Paladins catches up with him. The rest of the movie is a globe trotting action extravagnaza as David must protect his childhood sweet heart from this vicious hunter, and teams up with an unstable Jumper Griffin played by jamie Bell. So all in all this movie was worth the rental, and I would encourage anyone who has not seen it to check it out. Christensen does a much better job in this movie than his boring performance in StarWars(although his evil scenes in StarWars were good), and the special effects, locations, and action sequences were pretty cool as well. I give this movie a 3 out of 5. ![]() Jumper: A Novel $7.99 Jumper is one of the most entertaining books I've read in many years, and I read a lot of books. David Rice has a hard life, abandoned by a run-away mom and enduring the abuse of an alcoholic father. One time, though, he finds himself displaced, instantaneously teleported to a familiar spot. When it keeps happening, David learns to control his jumps, arriving wherever he wants. What does he do with his new-found power? How does it change his life? Jumper is exciting, while a deep portrait in character and themes. I enjoyed every minute of reading it. I think I just might jump over to more from author Gould. ![]() Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo $94.99 I bought this toy for my neice when she was 4 months old. She loved it immediately and figured out the jumping on the first try-she was too short -and still to short- to reach the floor so we put a sofa cushion under her and she jumps just fine. She laughs and is having so much fun when ever she is in it. This is also a baby that is pretty high maintenance and she will bore easily. She also normally wants to be held and up in someone's arms looking around all the time. Not in her jumperoo. She will just jump and jump. She is now 5 months and is really getting into the toys on the jumperoo. She can't turn around yet, but is trying. I think this is an especially good gift for a baby that needs a lot of constant attention/stimulation. It really is great!I bought it in the US and dragged it all the way up to Canada via plane and it was well worth the trouble! |
