I had high hopes for this sequel based on the good reviews on Amazon. This movie disappoints. It starts out a bit slowly & the filming is that new dark, cold effect that seems to be the new way of trying to create suspense or what, I really don't know. The movie doesn't really pick up in true Die Hard fashion until later in the movie. And it's hard to take the villain vs. Mclaine seriously. The villain is a behind the scenes white collar "I don't want to break a nail" kind of guy. Yes, Bruce Willis still makes a great Mclaine and he's still tough as nails, but some of the action scenes were just too over the top to be remotely believable even to the most "die hard" Die Hard fans. ***Spoiler Alert***

I watched the unrated version. I don't know how it differs from the theater version. The following were just too much and terribly done (because the just don't work): Mclaine is driving the police car in the tunnel (the traffic jam/crash happened to leave a clear path for him to drive through) and the helicopter is shooting the hood from above, outside. The car is a half mile inside, how do you shoot straight down & shoot the car????? Then the helicopter crashes & explodes & one of the terrorists survives (not likely) completely fine. No soot smudges from the wreckage, no injuries. As clean as when he walked out of his dressing trailer that morning. The tractor trailer fighter plane scene was terrible. The truck was smashed in the front in one scene then the next it wasn't. Keep your editing in order boys. And a fighter jet is shooting missiles at close range & can't hit the truck?? And it can maneuver under the bridge?? Then when the truck is finally hit, it's still drivable???

This movie just doesn't live up to the others, but if you have a cold beer & want to just veg out & enjoy Bruce Willis kicking a**, rent it.

This is a movie that any parent can realate to. Whether you have a sick child or not, it is one that will tug at your heart stings. Denzel Washington is a man that I would so want in my corner if I had issues like this... You won't be sorry to watched it...
