This is a museum-quality, reproduction print on premium, acid-free, semi gloss paper with archival/UV resistant inks. The print is framed with a single ivory matte under acrylic glass, and shipped insured, ready to hang and enjoy.Original, c. 1865.Topics: US History 1861-1865HISTORY OF THE CIVIL WAR PHOTOSA majority of the Civil War photos come from the original glass plate negatives in the holdings at the Library of Congress. The plates depict the activities both during and immediately following the War (1861-1865). The process of taking photographs during the War was complex and time-consuming. Photographers mixed their own chemicals and prepared their own wet plate glass negatives. The negatives had to be prepared, exposed, and developed within minutes, before the emulsion dried. This was a difficult process to master in a studio setting and even more difficult to work outdoors. Photographers transported their supplies in a wagon, improvised a darkroom, and learned to use their chemicals in both the blistering heat and bitter cold. In the 1880s dry plate negatives were introduced. These glass negatives were commercially available and did not need to be developed immediately after the exposure.

When I first saw this on TV I really like it, probably because it is a coming of age story. Coming of age stories are good because they make you aware of how you came to be a certain way as an adult.
A Painted House I felt when I saw it allows you to see how different life can be for others. My life growing up was nothing like those in this film and actually I couldn't really identify with any of the characters.
Everyone knows that opposites attract and that is the only reason I can explain for liking this movie.
Also the story is told from the youngest boy's point of view and that added something special to the narrative structure because the storyteller is looking back on his childhood.
That's another reason I enjoyed it, I love movies about writers, even though A Painted House had nothing to do with writing in its story; I still enjoyed that element that the boy would grow up to be a writer. Most people are unaware of the writer's creative process and just seeing this kid picking cotton and watching fights and going to five-cent matinees and knowing he grows up to be a writer made me watch a little more careful to see how that creative process began.

""The Chill"", John 'Juke' Logan's ground-breaking, genre-busting first album (originally released in 1992 - long out-of-print & unavailable until now) is here re-issued, re-mixed, re-mastered, re-Chilled, and containing previously unreleased bonus tracks. Featuring guest-musicians David Hidalgo & Conrad Lozano of Los Lobos, Denny Freeman, Junior Watson, Rick Holmstrom & many more. Contains the XM/Sirius blues hit ""Young & Wired"" and 15 more Juke-originals. Juke's style of extreme custom blues has made him the first-call harmonica-player for L.A. studio work, soundtracks, & themes for film & TV. He's been the harp-player-of-choice for Ry Cooder, Los Lobos, Etta James, Bo Diddley, Lucinda Williams, Dave Alvin, Leon Russell, the late John Lee Hooker, & many others. John 'Juke' Logan's all-original-song-filled albums have been called ""life-operas"" & ""eclectic"", but Logan assures, ""It's all 51%-or-more blues, I just invite lots of other styles to the party!!""
