 Joey Lawrence $9.98 You would think that a record of this sort would be easily mockable, but the truth is that this is a fine slice of early 90s teen pop. Frothy, inoffensive and clean, good fun. The truth is, listening to this today makes you wonder how such squeaky clean albums like this managed to sell millions of albums back in the day. Joey did not have a singing voice, but relied more on his teen idol looks and that centerpiece six-pack to sell multiple copies of this. "Nothing my Love Can't Fix for You", the lead single, alongwith its' cheesy, colorful video, is the obvious standout, and the best thing here. My own favorite is the innocent and refreshing "Stay Forever". The 1950s style of songwriting and childlike approach to love makes this song, and indeed the whole album, a must-have for any good pop music collection. Let others laugh at it - this still remains a solid and listenable pop album. Four well-deserved Stars.  Blossom: Seasons 1 & 2 $49.99 I loved Blossom as a small child, so I was more than excited to see it come to DVD!!!! Blossom: Seasons 1 & 2 is awesome, it's just how I remembered it!!!! This collection did end with a cliff-hanger, so naturally I can't wait to see season 3 come out!!!! |
