![]() X-O Manowar: Birth $24.95 I followed X-O Manowar later in the series, but never got to read the issues collected here (except for #0). It was cool to read them but the writing wasn't as strong in these stories as the later stories were. It was cool to see how Aric became head of Orb Industries and how Ken got his artificial arm from Aric. I also love how Valiant had things organized so their titles could have casual crossovers like Solar making a cameo or the Harbinger kids running into Aric. The new "Rise of Lydia" story was interesting too. It's sad what she went through for the sake of her race. But the crown jewel of this collection for me was seeing issue 0 presented in all it's recolored glossy paper glory! I loved the work Joe Quesada did for Valiant during this time and for me, that made issue 0 that much more awesome! This is a great collection for fans of the series and a great starting point for those who've never read it. I hope more are on the way. ![]() Mighty Marvel Poster Origin #1 $6.50 THE SCOOP: You wanted it, you got it... huge, full-color posters from Marvel! This is a 1st Print Variant Cover. It is in very good shape. Bagged and Boarded the day I received them from Diamond Comics. ![]() Marvel Then and Now: A Night with Stan Lee and Joe Quesada $24.95 Produced for the Hero Initiative to raise money for the charity. This is really a DVD for geeks and nerds only. I say this because it is a very low budget recording of a college conference with these three legends on stage discussing the history of Marvel Comics, Then and Now, hence the title. My biggest complaint is the sound. They had problems at the set up of the sound and quite a lot of feed back not to mention the sound will change from really clear to kinda foggy (for the lack of a better word). But it was very informative and very funny, thanks to the banter between Smith and Lee, an almost father/son relationship between the two. I highly recommend this, but only if you aren't uppity of bad production of a good show. |
