DEVIL WINDS is full of all the cliches you expect in this kind of movie: a tornado expert miscalls a tornado and loses his wife in the process; a buxom up and coming reporter wants to make it to the bigtime; a new viral investigation clinic is built and may be in the path of a horrible twister, but the director vows to keep things going; and the hero has a daughter who blames him for her mother's death and doesn't want anything to do with him. But still, DEVIL WINDS succeeds due to a pleasant cast and computer-generated tornadoes that are pretty awesome, even if they don't look totally real. It's a movie and for a lower budgeted film, the fx team does okay. Joe Lando (Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Combustion) does a staunch job as the hero and Baywatch's Nicole Eggert, looking a little heftier and unglamorous than usual, does okay too. Not as high quality as TWISTER, but still entertaining.

Ok I bought this DVD because I love Joe Lando and Shirley Jones. Lando is charming as the besotted King Gregory, Cinderella's husband, and Shirley Jones is beguiling as the fairy godmother. If you can get through the first 20 minutes, you can get through to the end. The younger actors are stereotype cardboard characters, the script leaves a lot to be desired and the music is just horrible. And there is really no need for a bumbling fairy godbrother or an evil wedding warlock (don't ask.) Young girls and tweens will probably love to add this TV movie to their collection, but older girls should stick with Ever After (Drew Barrymore.) Watch for a cameo of Stan Lee as the priest who marries Cinderella and shouts his trademark "excelsior"!

The series is one of my favorite on TV and the movies are wonderful too. It's true the movies still leave some unanswered questions which is why I want people to start protesting one more final movie to tie up those loose ends. Maybe Dr. Quinn and Sully are older and proud grandparents and the movie could focus on the life of Colleen and Dr. Quinn's legacy while remembering to conclude on the other notable characters, Matthew, Brian, Katie, Grace, Robert E., The Reverend, Hank, Dorothy, Cloud Dancing and the others.

Please ONE more movie is what the fans want!!!!!!!

I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this 1994 TV movie. Jude Snow (Adrian Pasdar) is the nice younger brother who stayed home to run the family store in a small town. Sonny Snow (Joe Lando) is the older bad brother who comes home and destroys everything his brother and mother (Piper Laurie) love. And then there is Rowena Ecklund (Nicolette Sheridan), the woman that comes between the brothers. Pasdar is so sweet and endearing as the brother who wishes his mother would notice and love him as much as she does Sonny. And Joe Lando is just plain naughty - lying, smoking, drinking, stealing from the family store and sleeping with his brother's girl every chance he gets. Sonny and Rowena have a past connection that Jude knows nothing about. Things come to a head when Sonny's financial past catches up with him and Jude finds out about Sonny and Rowena. Predictable, but still fun to watch.

I have to admit the best part about this movie was the incredible score by Mark Snow (X-Files fame.) I just wish the score was on CD.
