![]() How To Love Like a Hot Chick: The Girlfriend to Girlfriend Guide to Getting the Love You Deserve $14.99 Yes, it is about self esteem and the authors are all too aware of this. They give us some great tips about how to overcome poor self esteem and get onto the better things in life. I LOVED the build a boyfriend workshop and have to agree--it was scarily accurate. So, yeah, this is a good one that I would definitely recommend to friends. It reads like something my, at times foul mouthed, best friend would say. If you're looking for a few new ideas to keep healthy then this book has some. And if you're looking to laugh at your crazy life (food issues included) then I think you will (I did!). Finally, if you want an approach to food focused on feeling good about the food you eat and about yourself (including everything your mama gave you) then this book will do the trick! The price is very little. The reading is quick. And you'll learn about the value of spinach :) If you're looking for the secret answers to weight loss then tell me when you find that book! This book isn't that. It doesn't promise to be that. Although, it does explain, very compellingly why, whatever the answer is, little packets of "women's" oatmeal is not on the list. I hope if you buy it it brightens your day in the same way it did mine. And what can I say... if it doesn't you can still use it for a white elephant gift at your next holiday party. Partner it with a Bridget Jones DVD. ![]() The Man Plan: Drive Men Wild-- Not Away $14.95 I read this book cover-to-cover as soon as I received it and although it gave some insight on how men think, the information it gives is nothing I would actually take to heart. It makes it seem as though you have to be absolutely "perfect" in order to attract a man. The men I know couldn't care less about some of the topics discussed in the book, such as whether or not I only wear natural, neutral tones of toenail polish. In fact, quite the contrary, most men I've met actually love seeing cute designs painted on your toes. My advice is to save your money and just be yourself! Men love confident women who are happy with who they are as individuals...and you don't need this book to tell you that. |
