![]() The Upside of Anger $12.98 I must admit, I first watched the movie because Kevin Costner starred in it. I'm a big fan, I love his acting style and he's extremely easy on the eyes ;) This movie definitely didn't disappoint! Joan Allen was a perfect fit for the character she portrayed. The movie had elements of dry humor, and that's exactly my cup of tea. Even though seemingly both of the main actors were cast in roles that they had both done before (Kevin Costner being a former sports star, and Joan Allen a housewife), the movie took unexpected twists and turns every time you'd think that it was getting predictable. Overall, I rate it two thumbs up! Enjoy! ![]() Off the Map $19.94 Any time I have a desire to be transported to the high desert of New Mexico and spend some time in contemplation of my own life and where I am in it,I watch Off the Map. For me it is a transforming experience. Joan Allen gives her usual yummy fantastic performance,Jim True-Frost tears it up as William Gibbs, and Sam Elliot,Valentina De Angelis and J.K Simmons all give stellar performances.Even Amy Brenneman's cameo is thought provoking,I would love to see the Joan Ackerman play someday. Campbell Scott did it up right,I am sure some people move to New Mexico because of this flick. ![]() Yes $19.94 "Yes" tells an enchanting tale interwoven amidst intellect of science, poetry, philosophy, and international truths. More than a love story, Writer/Director, Sally Potter brilliantly shot this film in 6 countries in over one month. The subtle narration is perfect, multiple topics compelling, characters excellent (mature, and visually, tastefully appealing), cinematography splendid, and the screenwriter's poetry is absolutely charming! YES is a must-see...perhaps watch more than once for maximum appreciation. |
