First of all, there is no story by J.K. Rowling in this book. She wrote the Foreward, which is well done, but if you want a new story by her, it's not here. Other than that, it has a lot of fun magic stories, with a British humour and intelligence, and I enjoyed them very much. I had not heard of many of the authors, and will now look into other works by many of them. This book would be good for children as well as adults who are young at heart.

I bought this book for my son to use in his book report about J. K. Rowling. It was exactly what he needed! He was able to write a two page report about her life that included interesting facts.

I think I must have known this book had come out. I'm a big Harry Potter fan - which is unusual since I don't normally read those type of books (I've never read Narnia etc). My library had this book out on display as a recent best seller. It's a quick read. I think I finished it in under two hours. I wanted to read more! It also made me want to go back and reread all the Harry Potter books for things I might have missed. I love the fables - they are just as good as the "muggle" ones we grew up with. The lessons are great and I loved how Dumbledore explained and offered his take on it at the end of each one.

Overall if you like the Harry Potter series this is a nice addition to the mix.
