![]() Mega Cinema $34.49 way back in the era of "love" came along someone who really preached what it was all about:as in when you had the open happy fields of the south with Sweet Blindness (as in the happiness one feels with a swift drink which you will not tell anyone what you've been a drinkin' (Jack Daniels, come to think of it)-lots of love, possible; the tracks and cracks and open wounds of possibly crack cocaine in Poverty Train and the thought of a starving feeling (before the time of March of Dimes or was it always there?);or as in lonely women who strive for tomorrow without a hint of love in Lonely Women, perhaps a paen to the abortion process; the driven bravado of the lover who leaves all behind him in Eli's Coming (am I right or wrong); the great happy time of Stoned Soul Picnic, if ever a self-titled tune (come back Jack Daniels and surry on south or whereever:; an illegitimate child perhaps in the Jesus song of December's Boudoir; and the most truly scintillating woman to woman love song of tenderness and more from early youth to life ending belief of a love so true in Emmie, possibly the best love song of all time with it's lows and crescendos and highs and deeply felt poetic luxury. A sure five star winner and an all time great. A great chaser with Jack Daniels. He puts the attack into perspective showing how Johnson, McNamara, and Co. took orders from Rockefeller's henchmen @ the UN to keep this DEFINATE New World Order-inspired event quiet. By amking use of the most recent decl- assified material, he basically picks up where James M. Ennis and other UUS Liberty reporters leave off. Highly recommended. Rich Salzer, Historical Review Library, Chesapeake, VA, USA ![]() Kippur $29.95 As a former IDF soldier I applaud this film for its wholly accurate depiction of a Yom Kippur war experience. I agree for the most part with Tsuyoshi's review above and his advice is good. For someone that is interested immersing themselves in the experience of war without any Hollywood glamour this film does a splendid job. The scenes like getting stuck in the Golan mud while trying to carry a stretcher convey both the pain of training (what most of a soldier's experience is really about) and the frustration of war. Looking for more action? Not in this film, there is a reason that in the military that the old saying goes: "hurry up and wait". I have often had friends that ask 'what was life like in the army?' and this film is a very good answer to that. I would gladly watch the film again with friends and recommend the film highly to those who understand what it is meant to be. Other Israeli films in the same genre about war: "Beaufort" 2007 and "Ricochets" 1986 (no longer in circulation) ![]() Israel's Attack On Osiraq: A Model For Future Preventive Strikes? $9.95 The 1981 Israeli air raid on the Osiraq nuclear reactor to delay or destroy Iraq's nuclear weapons program is often raised as a possible model for preventive strike and direct action counterproliferation. In this paper, Peter Ford presents that raid in both strategic and operational detail, directly addressing its wider applicability as a model for contemporary military action. Ford reviews the operational details of mission planning and execution as seen through a pilot's eyes, but he also reviews the larger context of Israeli decisions and actions from both the domestic and international perspectives. Upon that history, he overlays a policy template to draw broader lessons and cautions for those contemplating preventive strikes in other contexts. The conclusion that they can, at best, buy time for other policy tools and efforts should not be lost on security planners today. |
