So I was looking for a solution to connect all these new components to my network for streaming from a network storage unit to a downstairs Xbox 360, PS3, new Samsung TV with networking, ect. Wireless solutions for each product (except the PS3) would've put me well over 200 bucks, but with this one device, not only am I getting stronger speeds (the configuration utility shows about 150 mbps) but i'm also enjoying more reliability than wireless can offer. Played some Modern Warefare 2 last night and experienced outstanding speeds and quality with no lag at all. Initially I was worried about noise going through the power lines to the TV, but a strong power balancer hooked up to the TV filters that out since I haven't noticed any of that.

The product looks sleek and fits in well with the other components in my entertainment center. I saw other reviewers who say that the lights are bright, but I haven't noticed them to be overpowering at all. There is also an intellegent power saving mode which puts the unit to sleep when no network connections are in use.

I did have a little trouble getting the security set up, but after a few resets, was able to get it done. I'm a stickler for security, but from what i've been told, as long as no one is on your electrical lines with this exact same device, then there is no way for people to use this device as a means to get on your network. You are at more risk using a wireless network. That makes me feel better....

All in all, this is a smart investment and a unique device (powerline with a switch at one end). Not alot (if any) other companies out there making solutions like this that REALLY WORK WELL. The prioritizing of the ports on the back, the performance on the speeds advertised, all make this a device that is well worth the investment made to pick one up.
