save yourself time and money, and get what you need from the hardware store. i didn't bother with this kit, and am happy with my own mounting job around my iron bannister. total cost: $2.80. just double check your measurements to make sure the wood is long enough for the mounting brackets

agree with first review that the screws that they provided with the gate itself are cheap--i had 2 break. you would think for a $80+ dollar gate they could splurge for some real screws..cheap chinese junk grumble grumble

I looked at having independent professional installers for my wall mounts, and got estimates of $800-1200 for my two mounts. I went with zip intalls because they were very reasonable, were linked through Amazon, and well insured. They showed up on time, were efficient, and cleaned up afterwards. They even refused a tip. I would highly recommend the service. I spent much less, and got the same level of service or better. I would highly recommend zip installs. Also, you can use a 15% off as an amazon.com customer.

In addition, the customer service on the phone ahead of time was fantastic. Travis helped suggest products and wall mounts, and even guided me elsewhere when prices were cheaper. Great service, great customer service.
