I decided to read this book having read his daughter's book "Shattered Silence--The Untold Story of a Serial Killer's Daughter". I enjoyed her book and wanted to read the father's to compare accounts of life during same time period. Had no idea what I was in for. Don't get me wrong, I did read all of it---it took quite a while and several times of setting it aside as it made me sick to my stomach. I thought I had heard it all, being the 'true story' addict that I am, but this is one I could have done without.

What a complete page turner - from page two! I think I read it in about four hours - could not put it does. The Alex Cross detective books are the best and this one delivers. The ending was unexpected - being connected to the White House but being this connected?! Crazy. This book will make an amazing movie. Mr. Patterson, keep the Alex Cross books coming!
