![]() The Piano $14.98 An excellent story - Holly Hunter does a superior job at her part. I've always liked Sam Neill's work, and Harvey Keitel fits his part so well. Anna Paquin as the little girl connects with the plot in a special way. And a great surprise end! ![]() Always $9.99 Always This movie was in excellent shape when it got to my house. The shiping time was excellent. What more can I say. ![]() Saving Grace - Season 1 $39.98 I know it is a great show. But, why does she have to barely move her lips when she talks? Is she trying too hard to speak with the Oklahoma accent? Is it still legal to smoke in public places in Oklahoma? I don't think so. I know her car is 10 years old. But still, a Porsche is expensive to maintain. Why does she stand in the nude in front of her bathroom window? Finally, why is the video so brown? Everything is a bit blurry and brown. A good example would be Desperate Housewives. I hate the show, but at least the picture is amazing. Saving Grace is foggy and almost blurry sometimes. Is it just me? ![]() The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom $9.98 Unquestionable, this is a bizarre film! It's a cynical docu-drama (mockumentry?) about a real-life woman in Texas who plotted to kill another mom whose daughter was in junior high school cheerleading competition with her daughter. The idea was to mess up the girl enough that her kid would win the competition to get on the squad. Holly Hunter is outstanding as the "competitively-challenged" mother, "Wanda Holloway." Also, I liked Beau Bridges in his low-key in his role of "Terry Harper" and thought he was just as entertaining as Hunter. Hunter, with her real Texas twang that we have to endure in her other films, is perfect for this role. Her accent is so strong in here it's hard to understand a third of what she says, but her acting and the fascinating story make this fun to watch. I was amazed to find out this was a made-for-TV film. It certainly doesn't have that look and feel (which is a compliment!). |
