![]() What the Bleep!? - Down the Rabbit Hole (QUANTUM Three-Disc Special Edition) $26.98 I had never seen the original 'What the Bleep' and ordered it and Down The Rabbit Hole at the same time, not understanding that this one include a greatly enhanced version of the original. Oh well that's fine. The movie itself if great and well worth the price by itself. But for me, I love the B sides filled with extensive interviews with all the scientists and guests. I appreciated the fact that not everyone shared the same opinions and to a great extent approached the subject from a variety of viewpoints. I like the variety the set provides. First the extended version of the original movie. Then the 2nd version allows you to select a wide variety ways to view it such as minimizing the drama portions and/or selecting 9 levels of depth in the interview portions, and then the B Sides with the great interview and in-depth explanations. The 2nd version that allows you to customize the way you want to view it, does, as the intro explains, depend on the quality of you DVD player. Mine is about a cheap as they come but in the worst case as it jumps around assembling the sequences you select there are sometimes a couple of seconds delay in the audio syncing up but that's very minor. I've watched the whole version a couple of times and the customizable version 3 or 4 time but I've watched the interviews 9 or 10 times and still enjoy them and each time I gain a little more understanding. Unless you're absolutely and completely closed minded and refuse to allow yourself to 'think' an original thought you'll love this movie. ![]() Holes $18.98 great tunes, awesome variety. unfortunately, none of joel mcneely's score is featured on this or a seperate cd album.but dont let the deterr you from getting this great soundtrack. ![]() A Cross-Curricular Guide to Holes $11.50 I was a new fourth grade teacher last year and I was looking for lessons to go along with the book Holes, by Louis Sachar, so I ordered this guide along with two others from different authors. I got so much more than I expected. This one is a lot more than a literature guide, it has lessons on every subject - including math! My students really got into them. Compared to the other guides, this one had MUCH more interesting lessons. ![]() Holes $5.80 Holes Forever! Imagine digging one hole 5ft in every direction for years for committing a crime. That's what Stanley Yelnats had done, (yes, Yelnats is Stanley spelled backward.)Stanley went there because everyone accused him of stealing a famous baseball player's shoes, from a thrift store. But, he didn't. This book is called Holes, by Louis Sachar. There are 233 pages total in this book. Stanley is going to court for stealing a famous baseball player's shoes, or did he them? He is given a choice of going to prison or Camp Green Lake. His parents choose Camp Green Lake on such short notice. Stanley meets everybody at Camp Green Lake. At first he thinks a kid named Zero (Zeroni), is sort of weird. Zeroni and Stanley escaped to a mountain, went to the top and found water went back to camp and tried to find the treasure chest and they did! I won't tell you what was in it because I don't want to ruin the surprise. My favorite part of the book is when Zero asks Stanley "Want breakfast?" and handed him a box with cereal inside, because it was at night. Then the warden and everybody else came out and they pulled guns but not to shoot them but the yellow spotted lizards crawling all over them. If one bit you, you would die almost right away. They could not move a muscle until morning. The lesson I learned from this book is that you should never steal, or hurt someone there will always be a consequence from the action you did. I read another book by Louis Sachar called Small Steps. Zero and Stanley are not in it, just Armpit and X-Ray. I would recommend this book because if you like adventure books this is for you. It also has somewhat comedy. I think you should read this book the very first chance you get, I rated it 5 stars. So please read it. |
