![]() Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf $13.00 ...ITS A BIT HARD TO REVIEW SOMETHING THAT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED......!!!! WHERE IS IT....???!!! ![]() Ben Hogan: An American Life $16.95 James Dobson's An American Life is the definitive Biography of Ben Hogan, who won 9 Majors in his career and dominated the sport in his era. Hogan was one of the most beloved sports figures of his day, but was notoriously shy off the course, preferring the company of a few close friends to the prying eyes of an adoring public, because of this he was unfairly saddled with the nickname "The Wee Ice Man" Dobson has managed to penetrate the curtain of silence that has always surrounded Hogan, talking to many of those who knew him best. Along the way he unearths many facts that were widely unknown to the golfing public, such as the suicide of Ben's father Chester when he was 10 years old. Needless to say, this early loss profoundly influenced the young Hogan's character, and gave him the strength to triumph over later adversity. Dobson chronicles Hogan's inspirationial story, from Fort Worth caddy to beloved Major champion. In 1949, the car he was driving collided with a bus, he wasn't expected to live, let alone play again. Drawing on that deep well of inner toughness, he somehow willed his body back into playing shape. He went on to win 6 more Majors, including 3 in 1953 forever known as the "Hogan Slam" Even if you don't like golf, I think you'll be deeply moved by Ben Hogan's story. ![]() The 168 Hour Week: Living Life Your Way 24-7 $24.95 I sincerely hope "Wants Real Reviews" who gave this book one star (despite admitting not having read the book) will do the right thing and retract his review. To begin with, all reviews, by default, come with a "read the rest of my reviews" whether you actually have any or not...including his. As for his claims of reviewers saying the "best book I've ever read on the subject" and not having any other reviews...what exactly does that mean? I've read thousands (literally) of books but I only have about five reviews on Amazon. Why can they not be talking about other books in the same genre that they never bothered reviewing? I almost didn't buy the book as a result of his one star review which would have been a diservice to both myself and the author which is why I hope he does the right thing, the honorable thing, and admit he was perhaps hasty in his criticism. Having read hundreds of books of this genre I can unequivocally tell you this one beats the pants off most of the others. Scientific research for the first time on the subject of goal setting and procrastination rather than the same tired stuff that gets rehashed again and again and which clearly doesn't work for the bulk of the population (otherwise we'd all be healthy, wealthy and wise) Will this stuff work? I'll come back and let you know but from what I've read (haven't put all the exercises into practice yet) yes, I sincerely think it will. For the first time a lot of this stuff just makes sense unlike drivel like "The Secret." Do yourself a favor...get this one. PS: Incidentally, other reviewers listed in the book include luminaries like Jeffrey Gitomer, Wen Zhen of the European Commission Delegation, Michael D Walker of Cirque du Soleil's Production Team to name but a few. If they're stooges, I'll eat my hat. ![]() WWE Classic Super Stars Hulk Hogan Vs Andre the Giant 2-Pack $62.99 WWE Classic Super Stars 2-Pack featuring two legends of the WWE, Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant.
