![]() Gloom $24.95 I was looking for a new game and liked the sound of this game and the reviews were good, so I bought it. My family has played it only a few times, but thought it was fun. It takes a few times of playing to catch on, but once you play a few times the strategy makes sense and it's not hard. We found the directions a little unclear but worked through that. I'm glad I bought it, and I know we will play it again on family game night. I wrote an article about playing the game if anyone wants more info on it. Here is the link. [...] ![]() Guillotine $14.99 This gallows-humor, "revolutionary" card game rewards players who get a head--literally. The premise is that each player is a guillotine operator during the French Revolution, trying to score points for the most prestigious beheadings. If you behead Marie Antoinette or King Louis XVI everyone will be impressed, but who's going to care if you lop off the head of a palace guard? Players work with two decks of cards--one that holds the usual suspects, including a palace clown, a local martyr (players lose points for beheading her), a councilman, and, for the highest points, the king and queen. The other deck holds the strategy cards, helping players to play their best hand in order to roll the biggest heads. While this game involves some strategy and maneuvering, the most fun is in the artistic and playful cards and humorous historical references. --Gail Hudson ![]() LOOT $9.99 This is a great game! I love playing it with my friends from college, and I recommend it highly. |
