![]() Bruce Lee: The Early Years 1953/1955 - The Guiding Light/An Orphan's Tragedy $24.98 Double feature containing two of Bruce Lee's early works, available for the first time on DVD. In THE GUIDING LIGHT, a 13 year old Lee plays San, a child who is given up for adoption. Finally accepted by his surrogate parents, he is suddenly faced with a dilemma when his real parents show up and want him back. Loosely based on "Great Expectations," AN ORPHAN'S TRAGEDY follows a young Lee, an orphan, who meets and befriends an escaped convict, little knowing that their paths will cross again years later and bring about a series of fateful events and reveal a secret about the boy's past. ![]() Lorelei's Guiding Light: An Intimate Diary $22.95 I missed GL during this time period but the book was very interesting and like reading about it. I have not watched GL a lot thru the years so I dont know her true backstory and the book delves in L. Hills story that it leaves some holes in the story that I wish I could have been given. ![]() Guiding Light: Jonathan's Story $7.99 It was fun and interesting and I would love to see more books based on the Guiding Light characters and dvds of highlights or the last couple of weeks of episodes of the series. ![]() 60 Minutes - Guiding Light (September 13, 2009) $17.95 This behind the scenes special on Guiding Light's finale was excellent. It captured the recent crew and cast going about the business of creating the final episodes while experiencing great displays of personal emotions. I watched the show in the 1970's and 1980's and started watching again when I heard it would be cancelled. GL was unique in their production style (compared to all other current soaps) and the sheer longevity of many of the cast and crew was remarkable. It's a shame how low ratings can dictate the fate of so many people. 60 minutes was on target in their interviews and overview of the show. The segment was too short in time given the 72 years history of GL! |
