![]() JOAN MIRO - Constellations: The Color of Poetry $14.98 This portrayal of Joan Miro is very theatrical ... a very colorful and I thought informative narrative .. but at times you could not hear the narrative very well or at all because of the loudness of the background, well, foreground music. ![]() Idea Revolution: Guidelines and Prompts for Brainstorming Alone, in Groups or With Clients (Graphic Design) $32.99 I am an both a fine and graphic artist and its nice to see such ideas in print. Its a simple book but great for a reminder and refresher for stimulating ideas in groups and solo. I recommend this book for my students and colleagues alike because its short and to the point. Its also nice to hear how other artists get going on ideas and such. The layout of the book is nice too! ![]() Casio(R) FX-9750GPlus Graphing Calculator $99.95 I purchased this Casio because it was a lot cheaper then a TI83/84. In it's advertising it says it does the same functions but I am finding that it does not. When it does do one of the functions it is off by it's rounding or it doesn't come up with the same type of answer (different form like decimal) which I have to then translate to the correct form. For me it was not worth the price break. ![]() Scalps $3.99 Possibly one of the only Native American themed horror movies ever, the widely banned and censored Scalps. The story follows a group of student archeologists who travel to the remote desert in search of ancient Native American artifacts. Seeing as they are desecrating sacred grounds, it doesn't take long for them to get their come uppance from savage indian spirit. While it may bear some semblance to the typical slasher movie format, this movie has a few things that make it stand out. Scalps certainly lives up to its name as the spirit's primary means of disposing of victims is scalping them with a tomahawk, and while we're on the topic, Scalps is a pretty gory horror movie for its time in general. It also captures an effective feel of rural isolation that creates a nice bleak atmosphere. For anyone who loves cheesy, gory, non-politically correct, low budget horror, Scalps would definetly be one for you. It's quite gritty and choppy looking as censored footage was edited back in, but for the viewer that is accustomed to movies of this nature this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Scalps is a nice little diamond in the rough, highly recommended. |
