As a Geographer and map maker I have fairly high expectations of location based database software. Family Atlas delivers a really great product. I was able to pull in my GED files with no problems. It even allowed me to add photos and other hyperlinked content to each location and customize my symbology. I was able to color code each branch or generation of my family to make it easy to see. I could print maps of the finshed product and even select a particular family group or an area (country, state, or city) on the map to print. Very nice and well worth the price.

This item takes Google Earth to the next level, especially if you are viewing 3D buildings or geography. You can 'fly around' the entire planet with ease. It is a lot of fun. It is MUCH easier to do with this item than with a regular mouse. I was going to buy a joystick when I found this item. I'm glad I did! I don't think a joystick would work as well as this item. It is also good for Google SketckUp, but does not make as much of an impact as it does for Google Earth. Get it and have fun travelling the globe!

This book quickly provided the basics to write KML programs without having to read hundreds of pages. It's easy to read and follow; and doesn't get bogged down in details. Good book for those who have a programming background but limited or no exposure to XML and/or KML.
