These are generally comfortable shoes but, unfortunately, they simply do not hold up under normal wear. The inner lining and collar had large holes worn into it within 9 months of purchase, with foam pushing out through the holes in the collar. Also, the insoles have a tendency to adhere to your feet -- quite uncomfortable -- when worn without socks. For the price, they simply are not worth the cost, not for half the price, for that matter. Apparently, long gone is the day when Sperry's shoes could be counted on for their quality and durability, and since their warranty only covers "manufacturing defects", and the problem with these is poorly chosen materials, you will not get any satisfaction by attempting to return them.

I would have given them 0 stars, but Amazon forces you to give at least one.

Cup of Gold is the first novel by John Steinbeck and shows it. The dialogue and description are mawkish and show the influences of Donn Byrne and James Cabell who Steinbeck admired in his youth.Steinbeck becomes more restrained in his prose later on and he wrote about hings he was better at writing about but Cup of Gold is worth reading it shows glimpses of his skill in the characterization and the way Steinbeck is efficient in moving his story and getting you involved
