This movie is a below average movie. You can tell that the budget was limited for this movie. Don't get me wrong, Gina Gershon does a good acting job, but some of the others actors just don't pull it off. The best thing about this movie is that it shows how unglamorous being in a band can be, and what hard work it is.
It's too bad that this movie had such a limited budget. Gina does an OK job in singing, but the movie is titled incorrectly. The band that this is about is a punk band, not a rock & roll band. So, the title is very misleading. Punk and Rock & Roll are not the same genre, so it should have been titled "Prey for Punk".
Gina is a good singer when she sings slower melodies, but she doesn't know how to sing punk or rock & roll.
She is incredibly attractive though. So, if you just want to see her looking hot, then buy this. If you want a good quality film, skip this one.

The movie seems to be a very clever blending of old and new
without seems to do major harm to either?
Tattoos and the occult enter into it...and a wicked twist.

I saw this movie once and even though Gina Gershon did ok, I thought Michael Biehn was the better actor. He is 52 years old now (he was born on July 31, 1956 in Anniston, Alabama). I agree with the person who wrote about Gina Gershon's pout. I saw her in the movie "Showgirls" with Elizabeth Berkley and I think she did better in that movie than in any other movie I've seen her in. Michael Biehn plays a cop in Borderline and his character is Gina's character's "lover" (at least thats what it looked like to me when I saw this movie on TV. I gave Borderline 3 stars only because Michael Biehn is in this movie. As soon as I can afford to get it, I'm going to buy this movie to add to my already growing collection of Michael Biehn movies (I'm rebuilding my collection because my original MB collection was stolen a few years ago).

In Search of Cleo

Now that I've heard this album, I have to throw away the trite comment, "not bad for an actor/singer". This is an awesome collection, actor, singer, gun nut, whatever. Unless you are a lucky few, you are only as good as the people you collaborate with, and Ms. Gershon has chosen an ensemble that delivers. All the songs are original with half being penned by Gina. That is much more remarkable than singing an album of Tom Cruise, I mean, Tom Waits covers.

If you can't sample the songs before purchasing, I'll try to do my best at describing it in words:
first take a stainless steel martini shaker and fill it with Ennio Morricone, Dwight Yoakim, Nancy Sinatra, Marianne Faithful, Chrissy Hynde, Sergio Mendez, Aimee Mann, Chris Issak, X, and Velvet Underground. Add crushed iced and Tonic Water. There's no need for alcohol because the drink is intoxicating from the get go.

My favorite tracks are "Pretty Girls on Prozac", "Pearl", and "Watch Over Me". These songs are all familiar, even though I've said they're all originals. They grab you where it counts, su corazon!

Gina has the distinction of adding much class to the art of using the Jaw Harp. Jew Harp. Mouth Harp. That "Boy Named Charlie Brown i before e except after c" instrument. Find this album, buy this album, share this album!
