Most of the comedy itself is clean. I never noticed as a kid that almost all the episodes deal with the same theme of trying to get off the island - the theme gets boring after a while. Unfortunately, the values that are exhibited are not moral: 1.) Mr. Howell is not faithful to his wife and is greedy 2.) Ginger & Mary Ann do not dress modestly 3.) the Professor promotes atheism through the normal macro-evolution baloney 4.) witchcraft is presented on several occasions 5.) Ginger tries to get her way by being seductive and 6.) the Skipper has a horrible temper.

This show is fun for all ages. It is more of a goofy farce than what you would normally call a comedy, but that doesn`t harm it in
the least. Lots of nutty situations and plenty of slapstick keep things moving along nicely. The charaters are so stereotypical
that it just makes them all the more funny. Gilligan and the Skipper are basicly a more modern Laurel & Hardy. Not quite up to
the standards of Laurel & Hardy, but good enough.
At $38 for all 3 seasions, you really can`t beat this deal.
