and i'm invited . thanks . in all honesty this film is quite well made . there are some flaws . too much of the familiar old you're in the house , you're out of the house , you're back in the house . i'm not certain all the protracted sound scares would have been the m.o. of this sort of killer ? pleased to say i wouln't know from personal experience . not exactly the feel good film of the year but true to its' vision . to state or imply that this film is based on actual events is probably more accurate and common then we'd all like to acknowledge or ponder too much . this is horror . and a pretty fair depiction at that . if the ending is disturbing and rattles your cage , the filmaker earned it . the human condition . often sad but true .

I always loved the movies by Haneke, and hold him as the best European director right now. I just loved Funny games (both versions). But this one I was just a big disappointment. I can understand that the idea of the film IS that the plot is supposed to be hidden from the viewer, but in the end it's just becomes boring. Great actors help to make it watchable the first hour, but then you start looking for the fast forward button on the remote...
