Also covered are tips on: what to look out when buying housing that you wouldn't up north (trees, fire ants, etc), why you should turn on the pool lights before getting in (alligators!), obtaining homestead exception to reduce your property taxes, obtaining beach parking stickers, Florida problems and challenges, birds, alligators, dolphins and other flora and fauna. Down to earth, practical advice that can save you time and money and, most importantly, headaches! A real jewel.  Florida State University Garden Gnome $23.99 Happy with our purchase, the gnome is what was expected from description, arrived in a timely fashion, pretty cute too ! The kids down @ FSU have given him a home :) would recommend this product.  Frommer's Florida 2009 (Frommer's Complete) $20.99 It was okay, it really only focused on the larger cities and LOTS on Disney World. I was looking for a nice beach that I could get enough information on I would know if I wanted to research it more. With the internet I can easily find stuff on bigger, more popular areas, and Disney. I didn't feel this book offered me anymore than the I could get online, other than the map that was in the back. I felt it was a waste of my money. It gave hotels and condos, a few, I can find many more online, felt like only ones that paid them was the ones that made it to book, same for palces to eat. There wasn't much on things to do. The only thing that might be helpful was info on parking at certain beaches. |
