I bought this gadget because my CD player in the car died and the budget said that getting a new system wasn't a reality at this time. So, I got this and purchased a 2GB SD card(also takes USB but SD is less bulky) to hold my tunes on. The Player goes right in the 12v DC recepticle(cigarette lighter hole) and then you just turn the Player and the car radio to the same station. Will not work on stations with a strong signal with dedicated listeners(you have to pick a static station). You'll see which one plays the best and you'll get CD quality listening unless your MP3s that you uploaded are not of good quality. I don't know why it came with a remote unless your cigarette hole is located on the opposite side of the car that your in or you have T-Rex arms. The face plate(not the buttons) of the player did come off. Didn't interrupt the player and it was able to snap back in place. The player did it's job with providing me with commercial free music, prevented me from having to store CD in the car, and helped me keep money where it needed to stay on the budget by not buying a new stereo. This MP3 player is incredible. I bought it and was very pleased with the features it contained. The radio receives pretty good reception and it's pretty easy to download music into the MP3 player itself. It comes in a variety of colors but blue's my fave. Arrived pretty fast so the wait was pretty short. I haven't had any problems with it freezing up like some have said but maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. Not bad for the price.

I've used the MP3 player for radio, audio books, and music; downloading from CD's or online to computer on both mac and PC, but keeping to windows media. Tried ipod material just to see if it would work, which it didn't, so I successfully erased the material using my mac. My motorola V190 charger works to recharge the MP3 player which is a plus. I use my own earphones as I'm not comfortable with ear buds as a general rule. The free downloads were welcome, though I did cancel the subscription before it went to automatic billing. Most of my songs are from CD's and my audiobooks are from public domain where I've become reacquainted with Mark Twain whose books are free online. The free music downloads allowed me to find old, old songs from the 1940's which I remember from early childhood. I put the free audiobook download on my wife's MP3 player because she likes Evanovich mysteries & they were on the list.
