![]() The Mixed Martial Arts Instruction Manual: Striking $34.95 This is one of the finest books written by any MMA fighter. I bought this book primarily for a glimpse inside Silva's technique and training. I was surprised at how much detail went into every striking technique. This book is pure gold for aspiring MMA fighters or martial artists. Silva's introduction and life story was also very enlightening. Worth every penny I paid. ![]() Fedor: The Fighting System of the World's Undisputed King of MMA $34.95 Excellent presentation and readability, Fedor covers all ranges with efficient technique that cover most of what you need. Although not covered in detail, old school conditioning is implied much like the Ice Man Chuck Liddel. I think this book has much too offer for all skill levels. This will be a standard in my library. ![]() HDNet Fights: Fedor Returns $19.98 This is a so so event that will really only appeal to Pride fans. Aside from a couple of names that American die hard MMA fans will recognize, it is a fairly lackluster card. Officially called Yarennoka - New Years Eve 2007, this event takes place in Japan on New Yorks Eve. An 8 fight card that is anchored by the freak show main event and only drawing power of the card. Pride always had a freakshow event, which was fine since the rest of the card was so strong with Shogun, Wand, Mirko, etc. This card however just has the Fedor fight along with an old Murilo Bustamante and a lackluster Gilbert Melendez. I also didn't like that they used the Pride ring and time keeping and scoring, but they took away the stomps, soccer kicks and downed knees. It was nice to see Fedor, but outside of that, this card doesn't offer much. |
