![]() Chatter Matters (Fun and Easy Family Communication) $17.47 Families playing this award-winning game will find themselves digging through memories and finding buried treasure. To advance around the board, players (two or more) choose cards with questions such as "What person from the past or present would you like to invite to dinner?" There are no wrong answers, and progress around the board is mostly based on the luck of the dice. But the joy of the game is in listening carefully to how your family members or friends answer questions about you. Some questions ask one player to look at another and tell a story from the past, almost always flattering. The game was named one of the top 10 by the Dr. Toy rating service in 1997. --Sally James ![]() Reading Rainbow: Family Matters $14.99 Reading Rainbow is one of the longest running and best loved children's series on PBS. Reading Rainbow is designed to inspire a love of reading and build lasting connections between children and books. As a half hour magazine-style series, Reading Rainbow mixes live action, music and illustrations. Reading Rainbows' target audience is children 4-8 years old. Included in this collection is The Patchwork Quilt, a girl learns how scraps of clothing carry family memories, Through the Moon and Stars and Night Skies, a boy and his story of adoption. Full screen, region 0 encoded, audio 2.0 ![]() Family Games XS Head Stress Series Gray Matter IQ Collection Puzzle $19.99 This puzzle is not for the novice...instead, it's a great gift idea for the advanced puzzle freak who enjoys a true challenge. The quality of the build is the same terrific wood pieces but this steps it up a notch. I own/play with a lot of these puzzles BUT...to get a true sense of the puzzle, I throw out the instructions without ever looking at them whenever bringing home a new puzzle. Also, because my better half is visually impaired, it gives us both a "level" playing field with a little friendly competitive. As of right now, this bugger isn't solved. It's frustrating, it's challenging and it's fun! I own a LOT of these puzzles and enjoy each immensely so see my other reviews for a break down on difficulty level, quality of workmanship and more. ![]() Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf or Death $14.98 This is about a half-hour feature, and in my opinion is not classic as the first three Wallace and Gromit shorts were from the 1990's. First of all, one of the wonderful things about W and G is that it's fun for the grown-ups and the kiddies, but starting off with someone being murdered wasn't so fun and wasn't something I wanted to be part of "family movie night". And, they give away the murderer right off the bat so it's really not a mystery at all, just something to sit through. What were they thinking? |
