I am 30 years of age and this game had me on edge for the entire ride. I jumped numerous times. I couldn't believe it kept getting me, but it did! The key is that it doesn't inundate you with enemies like most games (which kills suspense). You are also rarely ganged up on, which is nice (but you better be ready at ALL times). My only complaint is that the game character is a bit sluggish (compared to Halo 3 for example), but this only adds to the realism. How fast could a person really run around wearing a heavy-duty work suit and wielding a big tool for a weapon after all? And speaking of tools, nearly the entire weapons arsenal is industry tool based (in a distant future of course). I found such an approach to be an awesome (and unique) experience. The sound track is unbelievable and really adds to the intensity and suspense. The graphics are also excellent which of course makes a game like this even more realistic (and scary). The storyline and voice acting are also top-notch. If you are brave enough, turn off the lights, crank up the volume and really let yourself get immersed in the game. If you are not creeped out in short order something is probably wrong with your amygdala. Highly recommended.

I was really looking forward to this game, man what a bummer. Now I know I'm in the minority here but it's my take on this game and here it goes.

Well, so far I've put in at least 6 hours...6 hours of agonizing bordom! I just don't get what all the "hype" is about. It's almost as if you have to like this game or you're not "cool" by the way people talk about it. Guess I'm not cool, I freakin hate this game.

I actually restarted the game to go ith my lowered my expectations and see if I could bare through it. No go.

The pace is so slloowwwww. My god people, how the hell can you deal with this? I would much rather read a good book than play this, it's far more exciting and stimulating.

The graphics are just so-so, nothing great here. The animations pretty much blow, pretty clunky to say the least. AI isn't the greatest either. And it's so wordy, like I said, if I'm gonna spend hours reading I would rather read a book.

Maybe I'm just spoiled when it comes to RPGs having an uber gaming computer and having played some pretty amazing RPGs.

The break down of this game is as follows.

49% Talking
49% Traveling
2% Action/picking up trash

I'm so glad I got it used, I would really be ticked if I wasted $60 on this.

You've been warned.

(I haven't tried the expansions so these are just a few thoughts on Fable 2 main content only.)
While it is a great improvement over Fable, I was disappointed when I finally played this game. Fable 2 is larger and allows for more play time than the original, however...

*Gold, easy to get, so what do we do with our Millions? Once you buy all the Shops/Houses, then what?
*Weapons. Nice array of weapons, I do like the use of guns and crossbows.
The "best" of them are quite expensive, but buy a few shops, don't play for a day or 2, and you'll have the gold in no time. (Gold is earned even if you aren't playing)
Augments on the weapons to make them stronger/better. I do enjoy the feature, but why can't we socket new augments over old ones? You get a nice weapon, don't like the augments it came with? Too bad.

The main reasons for my disappointment;
*"Open World" Well, kinda. If your thinking World of Warcraft or Fallout 3, no.
You can run a little ways then hit the "no farther" mountains, rocks, trees ect.
*Co-op, play with your friends and complete quests. Not really. They show up as a henchman, and you really can't get too far away from each other. Your locked to using the same screen. Your friend can't be off killing some town and ask you to come over and help. Such potential, and yet they seemed to just over look all it could have been.
*The controls seem "clunky", often frustrated with the character movement. I am running into objects, getting stuck on nothing, a simple step for many games is an obstacle for this one. You can jump over a fence, but try to go up steps from the side, and you can't.

This all seems negative but I did enjoy the game.
I'm just offering a little of my perspective for future buyers.
(maybe even developers)

If you liked Fable, Fable 2 is for you. If you want to run with your buddies beating stuff up? Maybe another game.

As a former World of Warcraft junkie( it was once referred to by a friend as "crack for nerds") i was looking for something that gave a similar experience. I found a great game here. It took some time to get used to the controls- i hit mt "go to sleep" button quite a few time on my keyboard in the middle of a fight- weapon selection is through your delete and page down buttons- spells are great but you use you middle scroll to get to the - movement is through wasd or arrow control(takes getting used to) and quite easy to forget between game plays.Overall nice storyline-lots of game play and some rather tongue in cheek moments.
