![]() Stanley Kubrick: Warner Home Video Directors Series (2001 A Space Odyssey / A Clockwork Orange / Eyes Wide Shut unrated / Full Metal Jacket / The Shining / A Life in Pictures) $79.98 If you are a Kubrick fan, then buy this set! All his best and most memorable films are here and the bonus discs for each movie are incredible. Especially the Shining bonus disc. Not to mention the very well done documentary on Kubrick's life. I never get tired of watching this collection. Malcolm Mcdowell's audio commentary on A Clockwork Orange is very interesting. He tells little stories and rare facts about the filming and what went on. It's also nice to see these films presented in the original theatrical aspect ratio. They look fantastic. The Clockwork Orange widescreen laser disc released 12 years ago fell short. This DVD presentation is how it should look. Warner could of done a better job boxing up the set instead of the half assed flimsy cardboard casing. They also should of included the slip cases with the poster art that are on each movie if you buy them individual. But...whatever. Other than that it's great. ![]() Eyes Wide Shut (2-disc Special Edition) $26.99 The interviews and bonus material might be more insightful, than the actual film. Which appeared to lack something, and appeared superficial, and never really went anywhere, compared to Kubrick's other films. Perhaps the story itself, wasn't compelling, or maybe Tom Cruise, who might be better suited for action films, wasn't all that interesting to watch, in this film. ![]() Eyes Wide Shut (R-Rated Edition) $19.98 buy this on dvd. The blue ray is no better than dvd. This is the worst blue ray I own. Picture quality is poor. I have a new sony blue ray player and a samsung LED t.v. so the flaws really show. ![]() Eyes Wide Shut [HD DVD] $28.99 buy this on dvd. The blue ray is no better than dvd.
