Much darker and not quite as tightly written or funny as season 1, but still more interesting and original than most things you'll find on TV.

Though I wish I had skipped the 29-minute extra called "Taping Nigel: The Gimpening." It's more than I needed or wanted to know about Gervais, who apparently has a bondage/bdsm fetish which he acts out upon film editor Nigel Williams who doesn't appear all that comfortable with the prospect...one can't help worrying that he puts up with being bound (by tape, etc) into also sorts of painful and humiliating positions simply because he's got bills to pay OR he is star struck. Then again, perhaps that's the point of this exercise: that people will allow themselves to be debased and abused just to be close to "stars." A little too weird for me.

Love this series. If your a fan of British humor or have ever worked in an office, you'll appreciate it. Wonderful acting and creative story lines. It's short and sweat, leaving you wanting more, rather than driving all that's good about it into the ground, year after year. If you like the US version of this show, you will also like this one. Some of the episodes are exactly the same, which is interesting in itself as you get to see how different people/cultures approach the same script.

I am a big Gervais fan every since i first watched the office. Extras is a good show and has alot of funny parts some of the best being with celeb guest stars each episode. The interplay between ricky gervais and stephen merchant (who plays his manager) is obviously hilarious. Some good co-stars as well; Ashley Jensen as his friend is great and barry from east enders.

still not as funny as the office or his podcast though.
