 The New Guy (Director's Cut) $14.94 'The New Guy' offers nothing new, but gets a big boost from its cast. We've seen it all before a million times in those 80's teen comedies, loser becomes school's top dog and pines for the most popular girl and get her and then they find out about his past and everything unravels. Yeah......we've seen this all before! What could have been a huge dud turns out to be surprisingly funny and charming because of a good cast, an energetic soundtrack and a few differences in the clichd story line. The quirky DJ Qualls in the title role gives an enthusiastic performance and cutie pie Zooey Deschanel is always a treat. If you like these types of films, this one is much better than I expected it to be. It's not original, but it is a charming entry in the genre. Look for cameos from Gene Simmons, Lyle Lovett, Henry Rollins and Tommy Lee.  On Broadway $19.99 If you are a Joey McIntyre fan or a New Kids on the Block fan, this movie is a must. Even if you didn't like the band, this movie is still a must. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll wish it never ended.  Sex and Breakfast $14.98 I bought this DVD in part on the strenght of the reviews. This film has an inteesting cast and they prove they can act. Not a masterpeice but not a dud either  Soul Survivors (The Killer Cut) $9.98 this is a movie about the world of dead and the world of living.after a night of partying, college freshman cassie ( melissa sagenmiller)and her friend are involved in a bloody car accident that turns into a horrifying tale of the supernatural. overwhelmed by startling hallucinations, cassie's grip on reality slips further as she begins a desperate race againts time to learn who her real friends are, who wants her dead and who will be the soul survivor.they all are a great cast:eliza dushku,melissa sagenmiller, angela featherstone, casey affleck, wes bentley. great movie. i recommended. |
