![]() Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light (Black, Kindle Version) $19.99 It's hard to believe the number of positive reviews for this device. It is in no way designed for a Kindle. It opens FAR wider than needed for a Kindle, but most importantly the CLIP AND BASE ARE FAR TOO LARGE for a kindle. It does not attach well for its size and for the size of the Kindle at all, requiring you to attach it at an oblique angle or not all the way down. It simply defies logic the number of positive comments for this thing. Finally, if given to a child it is dangerous as it is too big for a Kindle and thus the clip can all to easily go onto the screen and damage or even crack the Kindle screen. ![]() M-Edge e-Luminator2 Kindle Booklight (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle) $24.99 I have the M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Red w/ Black case and ordered this light to go with it. There's a cute pocket in the back of the case, so the case is definitely "light ready". However, this light was not made for this case. First, it has to be pulled out of the pocket in order to swivel. When pulled out and swiveled, the light pops out of it's socket and I have to pop it back in. I often have to reposition the gooseneck because it doesn't shed a broad enough light over the whole screen. The light itself has two different brightness settings, but for the life of me, I cannot discern any difference. Bummer. I threw away the packaging so I'm stuck with it. Can anyone suggest a better light? ![]() Teach Yourself Electricity and Electronics, Fourth Edition $34.95 I'm no electronics pro, and honestly I haven't even finished reading the book yet. But I really like the lay-out and quizzes at the end of each chapter. One of the things that caught my attention was how it started with such basic information. "Chapter one; Atoms", this was a great and logical place to start. Keep your calculator handy though, because by chapter two you're knee deep in, what was for me, pretty advanced calculus. ![]() Franklin KID-1240 Children's Talking Dictionary and Spell Corrector $59.99 I ordered this talking dictionary to keep in my teacher's bag as I travel throughout the school district. When a student asks me how to spell a word, I just hand him or her this dictionary. It's operation is intuitive to a second or third grader and older and they love it! The definitions are short and written for kids. It had a volume adjustment and corrections for phonetic spelling. They look forward to my arriving with the "cool dictionary." Great tool for teachers, substitute teachers and parents alike. Very highly recommended! |
