![]() Applied Economics: Thinking Beyond Stage One $35.00 Very helpful book for thinking through policy issues economically. It demonstrates why free democratic people must think beyond stage one as a public group, and why certain political ideologies actually hurt the very people they purport to try to help. ![]() The Secrets of Economic Indicators: Hidden Clues to Future Economic Trends and Investment Opportunities, 2nd Edition $19.99 Well, Bernard Baumohl has done us all a great service by organizing the blizzard of economic reports that government and other organizations crank out every week. At the beginning of each indicator, he posts the market sensitivity and the time, frequency, and source of each report. It also gives us some insight into the methodology of the reports, such as stating that the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Survey involves only 500 respondents. There is certainly an overload of information, but this handy reference book allows you to be an informed consumer. Dry, but well laid out, so you can read it in small pieces. Get it if you're a serious investor. Stephen Morefield ![]() Economic Facts and Fallacies $26.00 In todays ecomomy you hear about economics and economist all the time but do you really know what that means? This book while having a topic which I would normally have found boring was an amazing read. I had people at work who saw me reading a book on economics and thought I had gone looney! I would read little bits to them and the next thing you know, they wanted it when I was done with it. I will read more from Dr. Thomas Sowell! He makes what appears to be a difficult subject so simple to understand! ![]() Economics For Dummies $21.99 I purchased this book to help my High School senior in his Advanced Placement Economics class. He has been reading it and it has helped him to understand material presented in class. His teacher was also pleased that he is supplementing what is being taught in the classroom. His grade has come up and that's the plan. I highly recommend this book to parents for their students, whether in High School or College. |
